Hi everyone, my name is Starr and I am a three year old Black and Cream German Shepherd. A good samaritan found me in the ditch around the Houston area after being hit by a car. She took me home, fed me, and got me to a doctor, where I had my leg and pads looked at. After being hit by the car, my leg was damaged and two of my pads on my feed were ripped. One of them has healed real nicely, however, the other one is still healing because I love to jump around and play with the other GSD's at my foster mom's house. I am sure it will heal soon. My leg was about 70% healed by the time I was taken to the vet and the vet says that once the pads are healed, I should be able to walk much better, but right now I still limp and walk a little crooked, but it certainly doesn't stop me from playing and running around in the back yard. I only go on short walks right now because the concrete does not allow my pad to heal, so I like to play around in the yard on the grass and am thinking about jumping in the pool. I love to play with everything and everyone and I have not met a stranger yet. I love children, as long as they pet me, that is, just kidding, I love everyone, but my favorite thing is pets and loving and sitting by my people. If you are looking for someone to love that will love you forever and love everyone around you, please come and meet me.
Love, Starr
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
