This cute little guy’s name is Riggs. He came from a shelter at the young age of 10 weeks old. He was nervous when he came in the door to a bunch new faces but that changed the instant he saw Hoss, the resident GSD. Riggs was immediately drawn to him and has been kissing on Hoss way more then appreciated ever since. During the next several weeks Riggs went from a shy puppy, that stayed at arms length from humans, to a loving member of his foster family. Riggs loves to play, is friendly with other dogs, and is cat friendly. At least in his mind. He really is good with the cats but they don’t always appreciate his attempts to get them to play. He has gone from being shy to cuddling and asking for attention from his foster family. He is a GSD after all and can be reserved with new people when the mood strikes him but he quickly warms up. Riggs is house broken, walks on a leash well, and is learning manners such as sitting for his food and down. Riggs is also crate trained which is great because he can get into mischief when left on his own for too long. Riggs is ready to find his forever home and would love to have a doggy sibling. He will acclimate well into almost any family willing to give him the time and attention that he deserves.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog.
