Meet Peaches — A Gentle Soul with a Loyal Heart
Peaches is a 4-year-old German Shepherd with a soft presence and an even softer heart. At under 70 pounds, she’s a more petite shepherd, making her the perfect fit for someone who loves the breed but prefers a calmer, more easygoing companion. From the moment she settles into a home, Peaches shows just how special she is. She is fully house and crate trained, respects boundaries, and brings a quiet, steady energy that makes daily life feel easy. No chaos, no bad habits, just a well-mannered girl who wants to be near her people.
Why You’ll Love Peaches
- House and crate trained — she settles beautifully into routine
- Polite and respectful — no jumping, no furniture climbing, no resource guarding
- Calm and steady — thunderstorms, doorbells, and loud noises don’t faze her
- Smart and eager — knows sit, down, and shake
- Playful when it counts — enjoys fetch and engaging with her people
- Loyal companion — happiest when she’s by your side Peaches is the kind of dog who will quietly follow you from room to room, always wanting to be close but never overwhelming. At the end of the day, she happily heads into her crate and settles in without a fuss.
On leash, she walks well and continues to improve with consistency and guidance. She is currently the only dog in her foster home and would likely do best as the only dog or with a slow, thoughtful introduction. On walks, she may bark at other dogs, but her body language stays loose and friendly, tail wagging all the while.
And one important note about Miss Peaches. She is not a fan of water. Sprinklers, puddles, pools — she will politely pass.
What She’s Looking For
Peaches would thrive in a home that values a loyal, calm companion and is willing to continue her positive leash work. She is a wonderful match for someone looking for a shepherd with a gentler temperament who will be a steady, loving presence in their life. Peaches isn’t just looking for a home. She’s looking for her person.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
