Laika is fun loving and playful and a spirited female Shepard. As she warms up to you, see will coo in the morning, and you'll long to hear her voice. Laika enjoys playing with balls such as soccer balls, squeaky balls, and tennis balls. She will roll around on the grass and amuse herself (and you) as she plays with the ball. She runs like a deer, and is often seen leaping through the air as she chases squirrels around her yard. Laika is well mannered and responds well to Sit, Down, and shakes hands (paws) with you after she bonds. She enjoys walks on a leash, riding in a car to church or the mall – and will patiently await your return. Laika has polite dinner manners and loves to watch you cook. This young girl is house broken and is not a chewer when left alone. While Laika does not require a crate, she will enter a bigger crate when coaxed into one. Laika's favorite pastime is to cuddle near you while watching TV.
Laika will perform best as an only dog and it is recommended that a new owner be a prior dog owner.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
