We adopted Jax in 2017 when he was 9 months of age. In 2019 my family moved to Toronto. Upon the move Jax had to learn to adjust to a life with no backyard and walking in the city. We live in a busy area where he sees multiple dogs and people on his walks. He does not pull on the leash and is pleasant to walk unless an unexpected situation occurs when another dog or maybe a jogger comes running up behind him then he can become reactive. Since living in Toronto, his behavior issues have been escalating. I know his triggers and have been able to manage them; he loves praise and treats. To complicate matters, my husband and I split up last year and I have been traveling alot. Jack has often stayed with pet/house sitters and does really well with them.
Jack is very smart but I feel our relationship has become strained due to current life changes. He knows his world is changing and appears to behave better when I am not around. I will be moving this summer and will have two young children and I don't feel trust I can trust him around small children. Jack really needs a home where the family has the time to spend with him and help him thrive in his happy place. A leader who is knowledgeable in German Shepherds to provide Jack with the guidance and direction he needs at this uncertain time in his life.
He is a VERY HANDSOME, playful, loving dog full of personality who will be a good companion for the experienced dog owner. Jacks gets along with other dogs and has lived in harmony with a resident cat.

NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
