Gunther is a handsome boy who just wants to please. He enjoys playing ball and having his belly rubbed. We are looking for a special owner who understands the needs and intelligence of the German Shepherd Dog. Gunther is a classic working German Shepherd who needs structure and boundaries to provide him with a sense of accomplishment. Gunther will respond best to someone who has the time and is able to consistently provide him with training and physical activity. Our boy will thrive in training since he enjoys and responds well to new challenges. He is always looking for your guidance and approval. He knows his basic commands, is house trained, neutered, micro chipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
We feel the best placement for Gunther is in an active home without small children, cats, or small dogs. Gunther is very smart and respects those who demonstrate calm, confident energy. Because Gunther is cautious when meeting new people, anyone interested will need to spend some quality time with him prior to adoption. He is truly a sweet boy who just needs to know he is safe in your care.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
