Look at this sweet face. What is not to love about our sweet boy who has Happy written all over him. Our sweet boy still has some puppy in him. At approximately 2 years of age, he loves being petted and to be by your side. He likes his crate when it is time to settle down and rest. Dusty is neutered, current on all vaccinations, microchipped, has had no accidents in the house while he has been in our care. He gets happy when he is taken out to potty. His happy face is evident as he just kind of leaps and bounds around wanting to play. He is a pure bundle of love and joy who loves to get good food and treats. Dusty loves his walks and being brushed. He has done well when given a bath. Such a sweetheart. We have not introduced him to cats however when walked past other dogs who are barking, he just wags his pretty full tail.
He's a very loving boy, very playful, very ball-oriented, very demanding of petting when he wants attention. He will lift his paw to you requesting a shake or wanting you to pet him. Definitely people oriented, his foster says he will put his paws on your shoulders if you let him. He would benefit from obedience training. Definitely people-oriented, wants to be right by his foster moms feet at all times when sitting. Dusty is very strong and will need to be taught not to dash away with excitement when walking on a leash. He will need someone who is attentive to his strength during his walks and someone who will be strong enough to hold the leash tightly.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
