Meet Bear, a 4-year old, neutered and fully vaccinated German Shepherd Dog who will make a loyal and fun-loving companion for the right person or family. Bear is the ultimate outdoorsy nature loving sidekick! His personality is a nice blend of exuberance and watchful calm. Bear is super smart, loves to learn and exercise his brain, so he will thrive in a home with plenty of mental enrichment. He will gladly join you to chase a ball and then make a game of bringing it back!
Bear’s Likes:
- Being complimented on his handsome looks
- Showing off how nicely he sits and shake paws
- Loading up (sometimes with help) into a crate to take a car ride
- Sometimes chasing birds that land in his yard if he’s not occupied with a game of fetch
Bear will form a strong bond once properly introduced and be a super devoted companion. A little treat and a game of fetch will help to gain his trust. He loves to run in the yard and then plop down with his ball, so Bear would thrive in a home with a fenced yard to keep him safe when outside. Bear is loyal, independent and smart with lots of love to give.

NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
