This is Willow and she is new to the rescue. We believe she is about a year old. Rescued from the streets of San Antonio she came to us skinny but in good health and full of puppy energy. Willow gets along with everyone in the house despite what the cats might say about it. She would love to go to a home with another dog that she could play with or have play dates to burn off energy. Willow lacks the social graces of an older dog and barks whenever she see a new friend, and every dog she sees is a new friend. At first she did not know what toys were, but now runs around the house with one in her mouth. Unlike most GSDs, Willow is not aloof with strangers and will seek attention from anyone who will give it to her. She is also an expert cuddler, perhaps because she is still a puppy at heart. Despite going into the crate on her own she will still need work on staying in it for extended periods. Training should be easy as she is very food motivated and is learning her basic commands. She is also housebroken. I would say we will update her bio as we get to know her better, but given what her foster family has seen already she will not last long. If you are Willow's forever family get your application in now.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
