Fabian is an active boy and is excited by everyone and everything! Vacuums, thunder, the mailman? They don’t frighten him!
Fabian was rescued by AGSR in September after being found on the side of the road by a local shelter. He was likely an outdoor dog previously - but has fully adapted to the comforts of being an indoor pup. Fabian loves cuddling on his couch with his foster mom and recently discovered the pleasures of nightly brushing and belly rubs. He is now housebroken and is currently working on his leash skills. He is crate trained but does whine for a few minutes after you lock him in. He is great at sharing his plushes and food with the other pups in the house. He loves toys - and can turn anything into a plaything.
He loves to roughhouse with his brother, Fabio, who is in the same foster home, and wishes the older resident dog would wrestle with him. Because of his activity level and fondness for jumping, he would do best with an active family without small children.
Fabian can’t wait to meet his forever family! He has soooo much love to give! Apply now to meet this sweet boy!
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
