Hello, my name is Shelby and I am eager to become someone’s one and only. I am very smart and learn quickly, especially when motivated by treats. I am very beautiful and a perfect size. I will work wonders for treats and learn new things fast.I also really enjoy playing ball and get rewarded with ball play when I do good things! Energy is my middle name and will need to be able to spend some time running around a yard however at night I do like to snuggle in and have my belly petted. I also like my crate and will settle down nicely in it when my foster parents leave for work. I adore My foster mother, father and other people, however, my foster four-legged brothers are not my cup of tea. I tend to get excited when other dogs are around and it would be suggested that I am the only dog. My foster parents are working with a trainer and me to become more accepting of other dogs and I am making some progress! My new parents must be smart and able to be able to take the lead. At night I am comfortable sleeping in my crate or in my dog bed by my foster mom. I can entertain myself with chew toys and balls but definitely like the attention of my two-legged foster parents. If you are looking for a smart, beautiful, energetic and sweet dog who prefers to be the only child I am the one for you.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
