Angie is a spry 8 ½ year old female who enjoys lounging outside in the sun next to her person. She runs quickly to catch any ball you throw and is so happy to be chased with it! Inside the house, Angie loves to lay next to your feet or on the couch. She is in our care again after her long term owner passed away a few months ago. She fosters with one human and 2 larger shepherds. She romps with them for short periods and lets them know if they’re roughhousing too much. Angie loves her short walks and sniffs all the way! Angie is a vocal shepherd so when you come back home after being away, you’ll be greeted with lots of barks and sometimes howls. This is also how she communicates with the resident shepherds and people visiting the house. She settles down shortly after.
Angie is monitored for her overall health including obesity. The arthritis in her hind legs is treated with 2 medications and a joint supplement. She has gingivitis but this hasn’t affected her eating and her teeth have been cleaned. Angie has chronic lymphocytic leukemia which was diagnosed in 2019 and is monitored through labs as needed. The ideal home for Angie will be relaxed with or without other dogs as long as they are respectful of her abilities to move. Angie is best suited for a family with older teenagers or a retired family. If you’re interested in loving and caring for Angie in your home, please apply to adopt her!
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
