Molly is an absolute joy! A five and a half year old Black and Mahogany / Rust colored female German Shepherd with a sweet and loving personality. She enjoys running and jogging, car rides, is housebroken and crate trained (her crate is her safe place, but has not been needed or used while she has been fostered). She has no issues being groomed and having her nails clipped. Molly loves to fetch frisbees, balls, and ropes, and play with toys of all varieties. She loves to have her “Belly Rubs”. She was used to sleeping on the furniture, however is being trained to stay off furniture while she is being fostered (a work in progress).
Her favorite treats are “Charkie Bits” and those with fish in them. Molly is currently on grain free food (Fromm’s “Salmon Tunalint” formula) and is fed 150 grams x 2 times a day. She has allergic reactions to foods containing grains. She loves a slice of Bologna with her meals.
Molly is happy laying around on her pad in the house and roaming and relaxing throughout the day. She is very smart and knows how to open doors with handles. She is obedient and knows several commands (sit, stay, lay, get in the kennel, drop, leave it, easy - for taking treats, etc.). Molly loves to meet new people and gives out many licks. She adoringly tilts her head whenever she tries to understand you when you talk to her.
Molly is a very active female German Shepherd who needs a strong leader and a family experienced with the German Shepherd breed. Molly would be an excellent fit with a family with older children and a family that can dedicate time to giving her attention, walking, playing, running, jogging and keeping her mentally stimulated and physically exercised.
Molly does get very anxious/excited when she is boarded and may be nervous at a vet’s office. She has been very well behaved, receptive and friendly to other dogs at Meet & Greets. At home Molly has a strong personality and is very territorial. She requires a strong pack leader.

NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
