At her first vet visit, Cindy was underweight and battling ear and skin infections, hookworms, and heartworms. With love and care, she’s already making great strides—she’s been spayed, vaccinated, and is getting ready for her heartworm treatment soon. She’s on the road to becoming her healthiest, happiest self!

Meet Cindy Crawfish – a resilient, loving girl looking for her forever home!
Cindy Crawfish’s story began on a rainy night when she was found wandering alone in a local park, a chewed-off bungee cord around her neck. She had no microchip, no one searching for her—and it was clear she hadn’t been given the care she deserved.
Cindy’s Personality:
Cindy Crawfish is a sweetheart with people through and through. She adores being close to her people, whether that means snuggling on the bed (she’s respectful of personal space and a silent sleeper) or riding quietly in the car. She’s smart, gentle with treats, and quick to pick up new skills. She even gives kisses on request! Bath time? She stood calmly and politely, like the perfect lady she is.
Cindy has shown reactivity around other dogs. Our trainer feels with patient training and continued support, we’re hopeful she’ll learn to feel more relaxed around them. She would do best as the only pet in the home for now. She’s incredibly smart and motivated, making her an excellent candidate for ongoing training with her forever family.
Training & Progress:
- Perfectly potty trained- not a single accident!
- Knows sit and shake
- Learning leash manners (she’s strong, but eager to please!)
- Comfortable in an x-pen or dog-proofed space, working on crate training
- Doing great with muzzle training
-Working with a trainer on her reactivity—she’s already showing signs of progress with structured sessions!
Why She’s Special:
Cindy Crawfish is a truly special pup. She’s resilient, affectionate, goofy and so eager to please. If we didn’t already have a reactive pup and other special-needs pets, we would keep her ourselves. That’s how much she’s stolen our hearts.
We took a chance on Cindy Crawfish, and she’s proven over and over again that she’s worth it. Now it’s her turn to find a family who will see the best in her and give her the happy ending she deserves.

NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
