In Memory of Cassie

I adopted Cassie (formerly Cassidy) about a year into her life from AGSR. She had been hit by a car and as a result she had lost a leg however she had not lost her ability to be one of the sweetest dogs I have ever known, let alone owned. She became a Pet Therapy dog and made hundreds of patient visits over the 10+ years she visited. She was the first dog at St. Luke's Hospital to receive a "Guardian Angel" and is the only dog to ever receive a 2nd one. Cassie lived 15 years and never once whimpered or showed any sign of being anything other than a 'normal' dog even without a 4th leg. Her favorite four things in the world were car rides, walks, biscuits and ice cream. On her last day on this wonderful planet she go on a long drive, walked as far as she could in her favorite park, had a big bowl of DQ ice cream and ate lots of biscuits. She will always be remembered as being better for me than I was for her, which I suspect is how most dogs would like to be remembered. I would like to thank AGSR for allowing me a chance to share the life of such a remarkable animal. Cassie RIP
