Kyrie Eleison (Kyrie for short, pronounced Kir-ee – the y is pronounced as a short ‘i’, like in “it”) is a 6 year old GSD who loves to work, has a strong prey drive and never met a smell she didn’t like. She knows her basic obedience commands, sit, down, and come, as well as walks on lead nicely. How well she responds sometimes depends on what interesting odor has caught her attention.

Kyrie is well housetrained and crate trained, although she really likes napping with mom on the bed. She loves chew toys and if they squeak, all the better. Her vet recommends the softer Nylabones for extended chewing. Her favorite outdoor activity is a long walk to explore the Leon Greenbelts and watching the deer. In the backyard, she chases a flirt pole with enthusiasm, trying to catch the flag on the end. Once she does, she will release on the command “give”, well, at least after she shows it who is boss. She loves to ride in the car and knows her harness being put on means a trip somewhere. She sits up to watch everything around her and she will help navigate if you want.

Kyrie is up to date on her vaccinations and heartworm preventative. She had a dental cleaning in November. Her health is excellent and with no evidence of hip problems. She will shine best in a house where she is the only dog and has no cats.

NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.

The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
