Our family is being relocated overseas in May and we are sad to be in the position that we need to re-home our family dog, Duke. Duke is 8 ½ years old and a very good dog. He is fully house trained but also comfortable staying outside (he is currently an inside/outside dog). He is up to date on all of his shots (vet records available for new owner to have) and he is also has a micro chip. Duke is child-friendly (we have a 3 year old) and is perfectly content when he can sleep most of the day. He weighs approx. 90 lbs and comes with his dog house, food bowls, food storage bin, collar, leash, brush, and dog bed. While he is a bit lazy, he loves to take walks and be around people. He is also cat-friendly and dog-friendly (we are currently staying with family until we leave and Duke gets along with their two dogs perfectly fine). Duke does have one small benign tumor on one hind leg that has been tested and shown not to have illness associated with it. He did have heart worm 6 years ago old but was treated and then shown to be completely clear of heart worm after the treatment was complete. He has been on monthly heart worm medicine since that time and we have not had any issues since that time.
If you are interested in Duke please email email@example.com or call 512-635-4106.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' direct experiences with the dog.
