Tank is small, delicate German Shepherd – NOT ! As you can probably guess from his name, Tank is a big boy – about 90lbs. at the moment, and still very much a puppy.
Unfortunately, he has moderate demodectic mange, and his coat is in pretty bad shape. However, he has started his series of dips, is on antibiotics, is heartworm negative, and has been dewormed and neutered. Give him a little time to get over his skin issues, and he will be a striking German Shepherd. Tank will probably fill out a little more now that his health problems are being addressed, so be aware that he could top the 100 lb. mark.
Tank is housebroken, and is starting to become comfortable in a crate. He is a sweet boy who loves to give lots of kisses, and is very smart. His foster parents are working with him on simple commands like sit and down, and he learns quickly. He is showing some alpha tendencies towards the resident female GSD, and is VERY cat aggressive, so he will need to go to a cat-free home.
NOTE FROM HIS FOSTER MOM: Tank has the sweetest light brown eyes. He loves water, and likes to run and play in the sprinkler. When he lays on the deck, he crosses his front paws and throws his head back, as if to say, "Yeah...I'm cool!"
He sure is. If you like ‘em big, get your application in now for Tank!
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
