Sheba appears to be a purebred German Shepard dog approx 1+ years old. I found her the beginning of April 2010 on the side of the freeway, scared hiding in the tall grass, With food and kind words I was able to get her in my car and take her to the vet. she had severe malnutrition and had abscesses/sores over half her body with much of her hair missing in those areas. Needless to say she was a mess, smelled bad, gross to touch and very scared. I had her heart worm tested and she was negative for heart worms. After a month of TLC she is a different dog! All her sores are healed up and her coat is coming back in nicely!
She is very affectionate, loves to be petting, bushed any kind of attention is good to her, although she doesn't like baths! She has played with and gets along great with my Rottie who pesters her to no end, she also does fine with my little Maltese. She isn't aggressive towards them unless they get near her food then she will let out a little growl, but I can put my hand between her and her food and she doesn't care. My two dogs both jump on Sheba and chew on her as well and she will whine or just take it, they run and play all the time, but by far Sheba loves her people above all. She has been on a leash a couple of times and does perfect. Sheba will go for morning and evening walks without a leash and listens better than my two spoiled dogs. Sheba comes when she's called and doesn't run off when she is outside the back yard.
I have cats and she isn't mean to them, she is very curious about them, i have one that runs from her and she will chase him and my other cat doesn't run from Sheba and she will just stand there, sniff him, wag her tail and sometime whine at him. I don't know how Sheba is around kids because I don't have any but she gives me no reason to think that she wouldn't just adore them cause they are little people that would pay attention to her and she loves people attention. I think she would do well as a indoor/ outdoor dog. She has been in my house a few times and loved it, I think it's because she just wants to be around people. When I am not going to be around for a while her and my rottie share a dig out proof dog run, the fence is 6ft and she doesn't climb it nor has she every dug any holes in my yard, but my rottie does! I would love to keep this sweet girl that I have vested time, money and care into, but I just cant afford to care for two large dogs long term. I am asking a adoption fee to cover her vet bills and to get her spayed upon finding her new approved forever home. Adoption fee will be discussed at time of inquiry. For more info or a met and great with Sheba please call me or email me. I am located in Burleson TX which is 70 miles north of Waco and 10 miles south of Fort Worth city limits.

NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
